The overall aim is to provide the contact with low risk of harm offenders subject to the supervision requirements of community order or subject to statutory contact requirements of licences. That contact, which will be at a minimum level prescribed by National Standards, will aim to provide the safe management of these offenders in the community, with a view to reducing their offending.
The Provider must be able to:
- Offer contact levels with offenders according to NPS National Standards.
- Accurately record the content of contacts on the Probation Area’s contact log.
- Follow the sentence plan established by the relevant Offender Manager.
- Provide rapid information to the Offender Manager about behaviour which potentially raises the risk of serious harm an offender may pose.
- Work with community organisations and Area provisions to provide interventions which reduce the likelihood of reoffending and meet the sentence plan.
- Provide information which contributes to the review of the sentence plan and for risk management planning.
- Provide information to Offender Managers about offender contact which enables the timely enforcement of the order or licence.
- Provide witness statements to enable the effective enforcement of the order or licence.
- Provide secure and confidential interview facilities which also meet the needs of disabled offenders.
- Provide a service which meets the needs of a diverse offender population.
The scheme will be delivered in line with:
- NPS National Contact Standards.
- Area Diversity Equality Schemes.
- Regional Reducing Re-offending Action Plan
