In addition to the accredited programmes outlined above, there may be a requirement for the delivery of LIAM, which is being piloted currently. The pilot anticipates that LIAM will target offenders whose alcohol-related needs do not justify referral to ASRO, some of whom may be undertaking other programme requirements concurrently which focus on their primary needs.
In its current form, LIAM comprises 12 sessions and is seen as being deliverable as a Specified Activity, rather than as Programme Requirement. Decisions on the future roll out of LIAM will be taken in the light of the results of the second phase of the pilot when these are available.
