The overall aim of this service is to assist South West Probation areas in increasing offender compliance rates and minimising the risk to the public by
- Providing a transport service for offenders required to attend a range of probation appointments
- Ensuring logistics required for Unpaid Work are at designated locations
The Provider will:-
1) Provide transport for offenders, who have been sentenced to Community Supervision or released as Community Supervision following a custodial sentence:
- From identified pick up points at an established time
- To an identified Probation Office; Probation Centre or location of Unpaid Work
- From the identified Probation Office, Probation Centre or location of Unpaid Work to an established drop off point service will be required to be provided 7 days a week, with coverage from 8:00am to 10pm . In addition, during evening programmes the driver will provide reception cover for the building after 8pm and be the first point of contact for the police in the event of an incident. The driver will at all times act in a pro-social manner model a respectful attitude to offenders and comply with Health and Safety regulations at all times
2) Ensure logistics relating to the delivery of Unpaid Work are:-
- Delivered to specific location, by and at agreed times
- Removed from specific locations by agreed specified times
The location of Unpaid Work can vary depending on the nature and location of the Unpaid Work placements.

- NOMS Offender Management Principles (2006)
- NPS National Standards
- NPS Business Plan
- Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements
- Current operational manual and practice guidance
- Regional Reducing Re-offending Action Plan.
